THE STORY
Brutalista Jewelry is a project born on the beautiful island of Mallorca. It has been in the thoughts since a year, and put into action now. Fashion Designer Danielle Churchman´s passion for jewelry, art, design and architecture, and the urge to work with her hands again, designs and makes most of the pieces in the Tramontana mountains of Mallorca with help from both local and non local artisans in the stone setting.
Brutalista Jewelry is inspired by Brutalism, the architect style that started in the early 50`s, after cities lied in ruins post war. Resources were scarce, and architects faced a brutal reality: build fast, build strong, build honestly.
Brutalism, was born from this raw necessity, named after beton brut (French for "raw concrete"), the unpolished material that became its signature with geometrical shapes and raw surfaces.
This is the essence of Brutalista Jewelry, unapologetic and strong, but yet elegant because of it’s geometrical shapes that fall easy on the eye with beautiful precious gems in vivid colours, cut in a precise way that align with the geometrical shapes of Brutalism.
The jewelry is made in 925 silver with precious gems such as Amethyst, Topaz, Citrine, Quartz amongst others.
